PhD Candidate
Jannika Korkeamäki
Biography
Jannika holds a Master of Science in Biotechnology from Tampere University of Technology, Finland, specializing in tissue engineering. She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Bergen, Department of Clinical Dentistry, and a member of the Tissue Engineering group at the Center for Translational Oral Research (TOR).
Projects
Her research focuses on developing nanocomposite bioinks for 3D bioprinting in bone tissue engineering. Using a multi-material approach, she investigates how individual components influence printability, structural stability, and cellular responses. Her work also explores how standard analytical methods can be adapted to complex 3D environments, aiming to improve the evaluation and design of bioinks for regenerative medicine.
She is actively involved in research projects such as Let’s Make Bone and 3DPRENT, which aim to develop innovative biomaterials and regenerative solutions through advanced bioprinting technologies.
