NorBioBergen: Shaping the Future of Regenerative Medicine

NorBioBergen is a new initiative led by Professor Kamal Mustafa and the Tissue Engineering Group at the University of Bergen, aiming to advance the future of regenerative medicine through biofabrication, smart biomaterials, and stem cell technologies.

Proposed as a Centre of Excellence, NorBioBergen focuses on improving the reliability, scalability, and accessibility of regenerative therapies. Key research areas include understanding the tissue microenvironment, developing adaptive biomaterials, using donor stem cells to reduce treatment costs, and applying AI-driven biofabrication for more precise tissue engineering.

With strong international collaboration and proven clinical translation in bone regeneration, NorBioBergen seeks to accelerate the development of next-generation regenerative therapies for improved patient outcomes.
